The Advisory Committee for Aviation Consumer Protection (ACACP) was established by the FAA Modernization and Improvement Act of 2012. Its purpose is to advise the Secretary of Transportation in carrying out activities relating to airline customer service improvements. The ACACP evaluates existing aviation consumer protection programs and provides recommendations to the Secretary for the improvement of such programs, if needed. The Committee also provides recommendations to the Secretary for establishing additional aviation consumer protection programs, if needed.

The ACACP’s Charter, drafted in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), as amended, 5 U.S.C. App. 2, sets forth policies for the operation of the advisory committee and is available online on the FACA Database.
