About FOIA
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a Federal law that gives you the right to access any U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) record. These records will be provided to you unless DOT reasonably foresees that the release of the information in the records would harm an interest protected by one or more of the nine FOIA exemptions (such as classified national security, business proprietary, personal privacy, investigative documents, etc.) or release is prohibited by law. Our mission is to provide you with copies of the documents you are entitled to receive under the law, and we look forward to working with you to achieve that goal.
