Overview
DOT's budget, performance, and financial management activities are overseen by the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary for Budget and Programs, also known as the CFO’s office. The CFO’s office directs and coordinates all the development, execution, and oversight activities involving budget, performance, and finance for DOT's programs and staff offices. Evidence-Building Documents DOT's evidence-building documents establish the Department's vision for the use of data, statistics, and evidence to inform decision making. DOT produces the Annual Evaluation Plan, Capacity Assessment, Evaluation Policy, and Learning Agenda in accordance with the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2018 (the Evidence Act). Performance Plans and Reports The Annual Performance Plans reinforce the connection between the long-term goals outlined in the Department’s Strategic Plan and the day-to-day activities. The Annual Performance Reports provide updates on program performance and achievements to enable policymakers, Federal managers, and the public to assess how well the Department has made use of its resources.
