USDOT has begun to build an all-new, state-of-the-art air traffic control system thanks to the $12.5 billion Congress delivered in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

FAA made historic progress on air traffic control overhaul with 1/3 of all copper wires replaced, 148 new radio system installed, and surface awareness systems deployed across 44 towers.

USDOT is surging hiring of air traffic controllers by streamlining the hiring process at the academy, expanding the number of CTI programs across the country, and offering cash incentives to become a controller. The result? We're setting hiring records and are up 20% from the last administration’s hiring pace last year. This effort has attracted nearly 1,000 top students into the rigorous FAA Academy including 600 in July alone.

USDOT canceled illegal truck licenses for thousands of unqualified foreign drivers and removed 3,000 schools from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Training Provider Registry (TPR).

Secretary Duffy inherited an unprecedented backlog of roughly 3,200 unobligated grants from Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg. USDOT has stripped previous DEI and climate requirements from the grant process and already obligated funding for almost 50% of the backlog. That translate to roughly $9 billion out the door to jumpstart projects and get dirt moving again.
USDOT delivered the single largest emergency relief package in departmental history to communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
