Marcus Switzer serves as Senior Advisor in the Office of the Secretary. Marcus most recently served as Deputy Chief of Protocol of the United States at the U.S. Department of State. In this role, Mr. Switzer oversaw the Ceremonials, Diplomatic Affairs, Diplomatic Partnerships, and Major Events Divisions as they related to engagement with chiefs of state, heads of government, and other international dignitaries meeting with the President, Vice President, or Secretary of State. Marcus brings experience in both the private and public sectors to his position. As Founder and Partner of his own firm, Marcus partnered with various national campaigns and organizations to meet their development and operational needs. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marcus graduated with his B.A. in both Public Policy Studies and Psychology from Duke University.
