Equal Employment Opportunity
Talent Management and Equal Employment Opportunity
The Department of Transportation (DOT) is committed to providing employment and growth opportunities to all Department of Transportation employees. The Departmental Office of Civil Rights (DOCR) ensures that DOT employment practices are consistent with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and all civil rights laws that prohibit employment discrimination.
A primary function of DOCR, in accordance with federal civil rights laws, is to ensure all DOT employees and applicants have the equal access to opportunities for employment. The DOCR Equal Employment Opportunity Programs Division carries out this function by implementing equal opportunity laws to prevent discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, and disability status, as well as protecting employees against reprisal/retaliation for filing a charge of discrimination, participating in an investigation into alleged discriminatory practices, or opposing discriminatory practices
