Language Access Plan

In accordance with Executive Order 13166, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued its Language Access Plan (Plan). This Plan applies to all DOT operating administrations and departmental offices and outlines DOT’s policies, responsibilities, and strategies for providing language assistance services to persons with limited English proficiency (LEP) across all programs, services, and activities that the Department conducts.

This Plan will help ensure individuals with LEP can communicate effectively with everyone at DOT and participate in programs and activities, such as transportation planning, technical and financial assistance, emergency response messages, and consumer complaint assistance against companies or agencies in the transportation sector.
