  • LEP.gov - Website managed by the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Federal Coordination and Compliance Section and acts as an LEP clearinghouse, providing links to LEP information, tools, and technical assistance.
  • DOT's Policy Guidance Concerning Recipient's Responsibilities to Limited English Proficient (LEP) Persons - Provides guidance concerning services and policies by recipients of Federal financial assistance from the Department of Transportation related to persons with limited English proficiency. The guidance is based on the prohibition against national origin discrimination in Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as it affects limited English proficient persons.
  • Language Access Plan - Issued in September 2023 and applies to all DOT operating administrations (OAs) and departmental offices and outlines DOT’s policies, responsibilities, and strategies for providing language assistance services to persons with LEP across all programs, services, and activities that the Department conducts.
  • Executive Order 14224: Designating English as the Official Language of the United States - Designates English as the official language of the United States but does not require or direct any change in the services provided by any agency. Does not require agencies to amend, remove, or otherwise stop production of documents, products, or other services prepared or offered in languages other than English.
  • General Services Administration (GSA) Foreign Language Services Ordering Guide - Most agencies utilize GSA's Language Services Schedule to procure the services needed to overcome language barriers. This ordering guide is intended to: (1) assist agencies, program staff, and their procurement officers in using the existing GSA Language Services Schedule to purchase language services and, (2) offer tips and best practices for procuring high quality language assistance services.
  • PIARC (World Road Association): Road Dictionary - The Road Dictionary is compiled with technical terms in English and French available at the time and currently contains some 16,300 concepts in these reference languages. It has gradually been extended by adding other languages and its on-line version from 2016 now contains 35 other languages: Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovene, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
