Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy Invests $1.73 Billion in Infrastructure Across America Supporting Jobs and Big, Beautiful Projects
USDOT’s BUILD grants will support 127 infrastructure projects across 52 states, territories and the District of Columbia
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced an investment of $1.73 billion into 127 projects in 52 states, territories and the District of Columbia. From Alaska to Florida and Maine to Hawaii, the Trump Administration is delivering critical roadway, transit, rail, maritime, and aviation infrastructure improvements for American families and businesses.
“America is fortunate to have a Builder in the White House who knows America is only as great as our infrastructure. That’s why this Department is investing in repairing critical roads and bridges that connect Americans to job opportunities, port infrastructure that bolsters our national security, and aviation and transit projects that move American families. The impact of these dollars will be felt in communities nationwide for years to come,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.
With dollars from the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) grant program, the Department is investing in:
- Roads and bridges, which received $1.3 billion–roughly 77% of the total funding–to upgrade critical arteries for commuters and hardworking truckers who keep our economy moving.
- $24 million is being awarded to the North Dakota Department of Transportation to install modern pavement and address buckling, as well as 10 miles of high-tension cable guard rails to enhance safety along I-94.
- Port infrastructure, which received $136.8 million to expand capacity, reduce bottlenecks and help restore America’s maritime dominance.
- $8.5 million is being awarded to Alaska Railroad Corporation to widen the Port of Seward’s freight dock by 300 feet so vessels can load, unload, and transfer cargo more quickly.

- $14.7 million to upgrade three Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) maintenance facilities to support a safer, cleaner, and more efficient transit system for the people of Wisconsin.
