TSB 2019-06 New TRANServe Card
TRANSIT BENEFIT PROGRAM BULLETIN
BULLETIN #: TSB-2019-06
DATE: April 2, 2019
SUBJECT: New TRANServe Credit Card
PURPOSE:
This bulletin provides TRANServe customers notification that U.S. Bank, under the GSA SmartPay3 program, will be replacing MetaBank/First Data as the new TRANServe Card Financial Agent and that current debit cards will be replaced with new GSA SmartPay3 TRANServe credit cards.
Information:
DOT’s transition to SmartPay3 is here. The new TRANServe credit cards will begin arriving at designated DOT work locations between April 2, 2019, and April 26, 2019. These cards will go live on May 10th with June’s benefit. On May 10th, DOT employees who currently use MetaBank issued debit cards are instructed to destroy their debit cards and replace them with the new SmartPay3 credit cards.
For DOT HQs, a subsequent communication will be sent once the new cards arrive that explains the exact date and location for DOT HQs employees to follow for picking-up their new TRANServe credit cards. For DOT regional offices, the new cards will be delivered using the same mailings process currently set up for their modes. Employees should check with their transit benefit manager if they have questions or visit the TRANServe credit card web page: https://www.transportation.gov/transerve/participants/my-transerve-card
The SmartPay 3 program already provides services to more than 560 Federal agencies and organizations. Through greater payment efficiencies inherent to credit cards, the SmartPay3 program reduces funding close-out amounts at year end and provides expedited delivery of the transit benefit to your agency’s participants by making the transit benefit available upon card activation.
