SUBJECT: New TRANServe Card Distribution
This bulletin provides TRANServe customers notification that MetaBank/First Data is to replace J.P. Morgan Chase (JPMC) as the new TRANServe Card Financial Agent and that current TRANServe Debit Cards will be replaced with the new TRANServe Cards.
Since March of 2011, TRANServe has partnered with the Department of Treasury to deliver the transit benefit to federal employees using cards provided through contracts with commercial banks. J.P Morgan’s contract with the Department of Treasury has expired and MetaBank/First Data will replace it as Treasury’s financial agent bank to issue the new TRANServe Cards.
TRANServe plans to work with each of our customer agencies with a goal of fully transitioning to the new card prior to the June 10, 2017 load date for July benefits.
The first pilot group will receive the new TRANServe cards during the first week of May for the May 10, 2017 load (June benefits). All remaining customers will receive cards during the third week of May for the June 10, 2017 load (July benefits).
The new TRANServe Cards will be delivered using the same mailings process currently set up for your agency. After the new TRANServe Cards are loaded and successfully used, the old debit cards can be destroyed.
Additional information will follow in the upcoming weeks.
- Upon receipt of replacement cards, participants will activate their new TRANServe card by calling MetaBank/First Data Customer Service at 1-800-341-6700 and will need the following information:
• TRANServe Card number
• 3-digit CVV code located on the back of the TRANServe Card
- Participants who use online payments with transit authorities or vanpool companies must provide them with the replacement card information immediately upon activation.
