Complaint of Mike Borsetti v. American Airlines, Inc. Order of Dismissal 2026-7-4

On April 17, 2015, Mr. Mike Borsetti filed a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Transportation against American Airlines, Inc. (American), alleging that the carrier violated 49 U.S.C. § 41712 (Section 41712), the statutory prohibition against unfair and deceptive practices, by overcharging certain taxes for reward flights. Pursuant to 14 CFR 302.406(a)(2), we dismiss the complaint based on the totality of the circumstances, including American’s implementation of corrective measures.
