Virgin Atlantic Airways - Order 2023-1-7

This consent order concerns unauthorized foreign air transportation by Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited (Virgin Atlantic) in violation of 49 U.S.C. § 41301. Specifically, Virgin Atlantic operated flights carrying Delta Air Lines’ code (DL) in regions in which a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) flight prohibition was in effect. This order directs Virgin Atlantic to cease and desist from future similar violations of section 41301 and assesses the carrier a compromise civil penalty of $1,050,000.
