Sample Transportation-Related Data Collection Fields for Counter-Trafficking Efforts
The U.S. Department of Transportation offers these sample data fields to help transportation entities document reports of suspected human trafficking in a consistent format. The fields capture where the suspected trafficking occurred, the mode of transport and type of facility involved, and the role of the individual who made the report. The National Human Trafficking Hotline has incorporated the same fields into its voluntary intake questions. When entities across the sector use these fields, their reports can be aggregated and compared with one another and with national hotline data, which supports pattern detection and sector-wide analysis.
