2024 SS4A Awards
On November 15, 2024, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced 257 fiscal year (FY) 2024 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant awards totaling $172 million to local, regional, and Tribal communities.
This is the third and final award announcement for FY 2024. Combined, 710 communities have received over $1.2 billion as part of the FY 2024 funding round.
These awards include 640 Planning and Demonstration Grant awards totaling $434,890,481 and 70 Implementation Grant awards totaling $806,600,340, shown in the map below.

Planning and Demonstration Grants help communities develop road safety action plans and inform improvements along corridors with safety issues. They also provide funding to implement “quick-build” and other temporary strategies to test out safety features such as separated bicycle lanes or curb extensions at intersections.
- View project descriptions for the 70 Implementation Grants. Implementation Grants provide funding for communities to implement strategies and projects that will significantly reduce or eliminate transportation-related fatalities and serious injuries.

The FY25 Notice of Funding Opportunity is expected to be released before the end of March 2025.
