DATE:  April 11, 2018

SUBJECT:  Bicycle Safety in the DOT Headquarters Garage  

PURPOSE:  This bulletin re-emphasizes guidance for bicyclists that utilize the Department of Transportation (DOT) Headquarters Parking Garage.

INFORMATION: 

All bicyclists using the DOT HQs parking garage are strongly encouraged to wear a helmet at all times while riding a bicycle in the garage and must:

  • Follow all markings in the garage, to include posted traffic signs, traffic lanes and patterns;
  • Ride in a careful and safe manner at all times;
  • Park only in authorized spaces; and
  • Comply with signals and directions of security officers, parking attendants or other authorized individuals

Failure to comply with the governing rules of the garage my result in ticketing or revocation of parking privileges as appropriate. 

EXPIRATION DATE:  This Bulletin will remain in effect until cancelled.
