TSB 2012 –09 Paper Voucher Program Continues for Certain Participants

TRANServe TRANSIT BENEFIT PROGRAM BULLETIN

Bulletin No:  TSB 2012 –09

Date:  April 25, 2012

Subject:  Paper Voucher Program Continues for Certain Participants

Background:

A growing number of State and Local transit authorities are transitioning to electronic methods of payment. The TRANServe Debit Card is now being used to distribute the transit benefit to federal employees in several geographic service areas. We recognize that some transit providers haven’t yet implemented technologies that permit electronic payments.   In each instance, TRANServe will continue to provide paper fare media while working toward acceptance of electronic payments with the transit provider.

Action:

Please provide your Transit Benefit Manager with a spreadsheet of participants whose transit authority requires them to pay using other than electronic means.  The spreadsheet must provide each employee’s name and the name of the transit authority(s) they use to commute from.

If you have questions about this bulletin or would like to know how your agency can eliminate paper applications by using the TRANServe Online Transit Benefit Program Application System, please contact your Transit Benefit Manager.
