2017 Spotlight Conference Program

OST-R and TRB co-sponsored the 11th University Transportation Center (UTC) Spotlight Conference on September 26-27, 2017, entitled Rebuilding and Retrofitting the Transportation Infrastructure. The conference focused on rebuilding and retrofitting transportation infrastructure for all modes, and included a poster session featuring student researchers from UTCs around the country.

Conference participants included transportation infrastructure experts and others interested in the topic from academia, industry, and state/local/Federal governments.

Topics covered during the conference sessions included:

• Maintaining and extending the useful life of the nation’s legacy transportation infrastructure, such as bridges, ports, railways and roads
• Building and rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure to provide safe and efficient transportation options for all users
• Deploying innovative technology and design approaches that will allow the nation to maximize use of its old and new transportation assets
