SUBJECT:  MTA SmartBenefits® Vouchers Use

BACKGROUND:  The MTA has notified their customers that the Commuter Bus Drivers will no longer accept paper vouchers after Monday, October 31, 2011.  As a reminder, the below information is provided for guidance and direction as to how to navigate during the transition.

INFORMATION:

  • The last date to use SmartBenefits® Vouchers (paper vouchers) to purchase one-way and 10 trip tickets from Commuter Bus drivers is Monday, October 31, 2011.  Beginning November 1, 2011, Commuter Bus drivers will only accept cash as payment for one-way and ten-trip tickets on board the bus; exact change only.
  • The last date the MTA Transit Store will accept Smart Benefit Vouchers (paper vouchers) for Commuter Bus ticket by mail purchases is Monday, November 21st, in order for riders to receive their December monthly/ten trip products.  Orders MUST be received in the MTA Transit store office by November 21st in order to be processed.  Mail orders received after this date using SmartBenefits® Vouchers (paper vouchers) will not be accepted.
