Mobility, Access, & Transportation Insecurity: Creating Links to Opportunity Demonstration Research Program
General Grant Program Information
The Mobility, Access, & Transportation Insecurity: Creating Links to Opportunity Demonstration Research Program provides funds for the planning, deployment and evaluation of research demonstrations which intend to provide the transportation resources necessary to implement targeted strategies that mitigate transportation insecurity for a defined population and determine the value of that mitigation to individuals and communities.
Eligibility Information
Eligible applicants include:
• State, local, Tribal, and federal governments (including federal laboratories)
• Institutions of higher education including research universities (particularly Minority Serving Institutions)
• Technical and community colleges
• Nonprofit organizations
• Private companies
Eligible activities to explore interventions to address transportation insecurity include:
• Data collection
• Transportation feasibility studies and analyses
• Economic analyses
• Stakeholder engagement and outreach
• Procuring equipment (including software or hardware) or services
• Performance measurement and evaluation
Eligible demonstrations must target low-income people and communities that routinely experience transportation insecurity.
Funding Information
The Mobility, Access, & Transportation Insecurity: Creating Links to Opportunity Demonstration Research Program will provide approximately $6 million in grants annually. Individual awards vary. Federal cost-share is 100 percent; applicants do not have to provide a match.
