Clean School Bus Rebates Program (CSB)
General Grant Program Information
The Clean School Bus Rebates program (CSB) offers rebates to public and private fleet owners for the replacement of existing school buses with clean and zero-emission (ZE) models, including electric vehicles (EV).
Eligibility Information
Eligible applicants include state and local governmental entities that own buses and provide bus services, public school districts (including charter schools) with an NCES District, for-profit, not-for-profit, or nonprofit contractors with the capacity to either sell clean or ZE school buses or related charging or fueling infrastructure to school bus owners or arrange financing for such a sale, contracted school bus dealers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with the same capacity, nonprofit school transportation associations, and Tribes and Tribal organizations responsible for the purchase of school buses or providing school bus service for a Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) funded school.
Funding Information
Private school bus fleets cannot apply directly for funding but are permitted to enter into a contractual arrangement with a private fleet owning and operating buses to replace buses that serve a public school district.
