Description

This project will enable further development and use of emerging mobility technologies supported by the secretarial-signed Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Interior and Department of Transportation (November, 2021), and demonstrate the ability of driving automation technologies in remote environments (e.g., areas with limited connectivity). The project will test prototype technologies in operational environments in National Park units with different geographic, topographic, climatic variances. Results of the prototypes will drive a national strategic plan for the National Park Service (NPS) for incorporating ADS technology.
