Description | This project will provide interoperability testing across different vendors, SCMS providers and Interoperable Connectivity technologies for specific ITS Use Cases and Applications. This project would build off of the activities of the Leidos and Volpe spectrum testing effort to bring in a wider range of vendors and a more robust test environment for conducting interoperability testing. The spectrum testing team would conduct initial tests to demonstrate suitability of specific technologies and document initial performance across key performance metrics. If tests demonstrate that a technology is suitable for an use case/application, then that technology would that technology and use case/application would enter this Interoperable Connectivity Testing program to test across multiple vendors and identify any potential interoperability issues. As interoperable issues are identified, this program could develop initial guidance for near term deployment agencies to use to deploy these use cases/applications and then work with the ITS Standards program to determine if an update to an existing standard, a new standard or a recommended practice would be necessary to address nationwide interoperability. |
