Description | The project will begin to assess the value and viability of a high-definition digital map of the national roadway network as an enabler and perhaps as a prerequisite for sustainable and equitable integration of automation within the national multimodal transportation system. The project will explore the technical and financial requirements to develop such a national roadway network digital map. Proposed investigation would focus on the desirable features and requirements of such a map, the potential procedural and business models for developing and maintaining the map, and the value or impact such map would have on progressing automation and supporting state and local roadway agency digital asset management initiatives. |
