Description

The CVCS (Connected Vehicle Core Services) is an internet-based application that provides users with the capability to define lanes, approaches, and information messages within an intersection through a user-friendly graphical interface. The data are transformable into various message formats, including ISD, MAP, SPaT, and TIM messages, presented as an ASN.1 UPER-encoded Hex string. Furthermore, the tool offers users the ability to meticulously validate message versions for conformity with established specifications and standards.

At present, the tool utilizes a proprietary ASN.1 compiler known as OSS Nokalva. Recent updates to the tool are geared toward integrating an open-source compiler into the system, initially focusing on the encoding and decoding of MAP messages. However, additional efforts are required to extend this functionality to encompass other message types within the J2735 message set, such as TIM, SPaT and BSM, and to messages described in other standards, such as J2945 or J3224. Furthermore, effort would be necessary to manage the integration and release of the updated tool, to perform outreach to make stakeholders aware of the update, and to solicit and address feedback.
