Description | In 2022 and 2023, as part of the effort to develop an FHWA wide Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation (AMS) Research Plan and Roadmap, FHWA conducted significant stakeholder engagement with AMS tools users (i.e., State DOTs, contractors), AMS tools developers, AMS researchers, USDOT modes (e.g., NHTSA, FTA, JPO), and other Federal agencies (i.e., DOE, EPA). Multiple stakeholders suggested that FHWA should have a role in creating, facilitating, and supporting a CAV/EV AMS Community of Practice. Thus, the creation of a CAV/EV AMS Community of Practice was one of the first steps identified in the FHWA wide CAV EV AMS Research Plan. |
