Description

The LPAR is a 1.8-mile stretch of asphalt and concrete paved road. This road is used for equipment delivery, daily employee access, and emergency evacuation route of the dam. It also provides access to a boat launch area used by vendors to start guided or self-guided trips down the Colorado River. The scope of the work at LPAR is to install new guardrail, replace sections of the existing guardrail to meet current standards and upgrade the existing drainage features by installing paved ditch and cross drains. Upgrading safety barriers between existing helipad and the bottom of LPAR might result in reconstruction of a travel lane and construction of a moment slab to achieve desirable roadway and barrier width. BOR has also requested evaluation and design of bridge repair/rehabilitation and a slope repair near the boat launch area.
