Description

This project is located on Scenic Byway SH 5 Mt. Evans Highway approximately 8.5 miles south of the SH103 and SH5 intersection. The project limits cover 0.7 miles of roadway south of the lower Summit Lake Trailhead gravel parking area.  The Mt. Evans Highway is the highest paved road in the United States at an elevation of 14,130 feet above sea level.  At the project location, the elevation is approximately 1100 feet below the summit, at 13,000 feet.
