On September 25th, 2019, the Northwest Small Business Transportation Resource Center (NW SBTRC), Sound Transit, and Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center partnered to conduct a Financial Education and Outreach event: Access to Capital, Financing for Small Business at Tukwila Community Center. 50 small and emerging businesses benefitted from this very imformative program.
The workshop featured presentations by:
- Carmelle Palomino on Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) impact on your Company Financial Statements
- Becky House from American Financials Goals on “How to Improve Your Credit Score”
- A panel discussion on Access to Capital, Bonding and Banking Relationships with Kara Skinner, Integrity Surety; Jimmy Ng, Key Bank; Michaele Williams and Chris Estrada, Banner Bank; Stan Kawamoto, retired DBE owner.
The goal of this workshop was to provide small business owners with the necessary tools and resources to increase their economic competitiveness, maintain credit, build relationships with creditors, and develop sound financial strategies.
