Chief Information Security Officer
Laks Prabhala is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
In this role, Laks champions enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy and cyber defense operations. With over 35 years’ experience in IT, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, he has led complex programs for both federal agencies and global financial institutions. His career includes senior leadership positions at Accenture, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs, and the U.S. Census Bureau, where he directed Zero Trust architecture, FedRAMP compliance, and large-scale IT modernization initiatives.
Laks holds a master’s degree in computer science from Drexel University, a Harvard Senior Executive Fellowship, and multiple professional certifications, including CISSP, CEH, and ITIL.
