Charles Taumoepeau
Acting Senior Strategy and Government Advisor
Charles "T" Taumoepeau is the Acting Senior Strategy and Government Advisor to the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
A cornerstone of OCDIO, T plays a central role in shaping enterprise IT consolidation strategy, combining strategic insights with disciplined execution to strengthen interagency partnerships and drive sustainable modernization. In this role, he shepherds DOT’s 1DOT IT transition to a unified, product-centric digital delivery model.
With more than 20 years’ experience across the U.S. Department of Defense and DOT, T has led enterprise IT strategy, budget formulation, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives, including:
- Administering portfolios exceeding $100M,
- Influencing multi-billion-dollar investment programs, and
- Modernizing IT governance and operational processes.
Previously, as Acting Chief Technology Officer of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, he led agency-wide IT operations supporting over 1 million stakeholders, while also modernizing IT governance, streamlining enterprise spending, and securing additional investments in collaboration with Congress and the Office of Management and Budget.
