Ankur Saini is the Chief Product and Technology Officer for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA), Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and Maritime Administration (MARAD) at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

With over 20 years’ experience in digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and data strategy, Ankur oversees the agency’s $100M technology portfolio, ensuring that mission-critical IT systems are secure, modern, and user-friendly. He partners with program teams, agency leaders, and stakeholders to deliver practical, sustainable technology solutions that reduce complexity and improve operational effectiveness. His work spans initiatives from multi-million-dollar software development and IT infrastructure programs to modernized registration and fraud-prevention platforms (such as FMCSA’s Motus and TotalShield).

Prior to joining FMCSA, Ankur led program management roles at the General Services Administration, managing modernization of the GSA Real Estate Exchange (G-REX) and driving digital transformation for the Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization.

Due in significant part to Ankur’s tireless efforts, FMCSA was recognized as one of CIO 100’s “Top 100 U.S. Technology Innovators” three years in a row (2023-2025); Ankur personally received the FMCSA Administrator’s Employee of the Year (2023) and the US DOT Secretary’s Silver Medal for “outstanding leadership in digital transformation and public safety impact.”

Ankur holds an MBA from the RH Smith School of Business, University of Maryland.
