FAST Act Section 1317 Modernization of the Environmental Review Process

Section 1317 (Modernization of the Environmental Review Process) of the FAST Act focuses on accelerating project delivery to save time and money while improving environmental outcomes. This report serves to meet the Section 1317(c) requirement that a report to Congress be submitted no later than one year from the enactment of the Act (December 4, 2015). In this report, DOT reviews the ways it has modernized, simplified, and improved the environmental review process.
