"aircraft mechanic working on airplane"The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) was enacted March 11, 2021, and created a new program—the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection (AMJP) program.

This is a new program that can provide money to eligible businesses, to pay up to half of their compensation costs for certain categories of employees, for up to six months.

In return, the business has to make several commitments, including a commitment that the company will not involuntarily furlough or lay off employees within that group during the same six-month period.
