Local Development Districts Capacity Building Program
General Grant Program Information
Southeast Crescent Regional Commission (SCRC) will invest $1 million in a non-competitive grant program for the 62 Local Development Districts (LDDs) located in the Southeast Crescent region. The LDD Capacity Building Program will provide grants to LDDs in FY 2023 to assist with planning, technical assistance, and capacity building activities in their communities. The primary objective of this grant program is to increase local access to funding sources and assist communities in the preparation to receive financial investments.
By enhancing the operational capacity of LDDs, direct assistance to counties will be provided in distressed and transitional areas to enhance economic development, administration, and planning. Grants awarded under the LDD Capacity Building program may not exceed 80% of the administrative and planning expenses of the LDD applying for funding.
Funding Information
The Commission may contribute up to 50% of project costs. Counties designated as distressed may receive an allocation of up to 80% of project costs. Under a special rule, the level of contribution may increase to 60% and 90% respectively for regional projects which involve three or more counties or two or more states.
