DERA Tribal and Insular Area Grants
General Grant Program Information
The DERA Tribal and Insular Area Grants also provides funding to establish lower-emission diesel projects. Although funding for both Tribes and insular areas are being announced under a single RFA, the applications will be reviewed separately.
Eligibility Information
Eligible diesel emissions reduction solutions include verified retrofit technologies, verified idle reduction technologies, verified aerodynamic technologies, verified low rolling resistance tires, certified engine replacements and conversions, and certified vehicle or equipment replacement. Diesel vehicles, engines, and equipment may include marine engines on fishing and other vessels, nonroad engines, equipment, or vehicles used in construction, handling of cargo (including at ports or airports), agriculture, mining, or energy production (including stationary generators and pumps), school buses, electrified parking spaces heavy trucks (e.g., dump trucks, water trucks, fire trucks), and locomotive engines.
Funding Information
The DERA Tribal and Insular Area Grants anticipates awarding $7 million to Tribal governments (or intertribal consortia) and Alaska Native Villages not to exceed $800,000 per proposal, and $1 million to insular area governments not to exceed $300,000 per proposal under the 2022 RFA. There are no cost-sharing requirements.
