Surface Transportation NIEM Domain

The DOT|TRCC has long championed the creation of a Surface Transportation Domain using the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). NIEM is a community-driven, government-wide, standards-based approach to exchanging information. More than a series of XML standards, NIEM provides the governance process and support necessary to make such exchange protocols work—not just for one discrete agency or department, but for the community at large.

The DOT|TRCC is working with the NIEM Program Management Office, Departmental leadership, and others entities to move forward with the creation of a Surface Transportation Domain per the NIEM Engagement Process.
