Loading Devices

When loading or unloading an assistive device it is important to keep in mind that assistive devices are to be among the first items to be unloaded upon arrival.
Whenever baggage compartment size and aircraft airworthiness considerations do not prohibit doing so, carriers shall accept a passenger’s battery-powered wheelchair (including the battery) or other assistive device, as checked baggage at no additional cost to the consumer.
Whenever possible, discuss with the passenger the best way to load and unload the passenger's assistive device.
