<RM>Notice of proposed rulemaking.

<RM>The Coast Guard proposes to revise its chemical drug testing regulations to conform with the Department of Transportation's (DOT) final rule on drug testing procedures published in the <CS>Federal Register <RM>on December 19, 2000. The Coast Guard proposes to amend the regulations on Marine Casualties and Investigations and Chemical Testing by removing obsolete sections and sections duplicating the DOT regulations; adding new definitions; and modifying existing text to incorporate new terms and procedures contained in the DOT procedural requirements. This rulemaking would conform Coast Guard rules to the new requirements established by the December 19, 2000, DOT final rule.
