Engineering support procurement to provide Airport Surface Detection Equipment – Model X (ASDE-X) and Airport Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC) systems with continued engineering support to ensure sustainment and compatibility with evolving technology. These surface surveillance systems are technically unlike any other commercial surveillance systems in production and include proprietary hardware/software components that cannot be modified by the FAA.

Procurement Forecast Opportunity-676036-

The scope of the procurement includes modifications to the form, fit, or function of a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) SMR to meet interface and other FAA requirements. This includes SMR4 installation, interface development, system test, training, and logistics support.

RWSL integrates airport lighting equipment with approach and surface surveillance systems to provide a visual signal indicating to pilots and vehicle operators that it is unsafe to enter/cross or begin takeoff on a runway. Airport surveillance sensor inputs are processed through light control logic that commands in-pavement lights to illuminate red when there is traffic on or approaching the runway.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY, was established in 1943 and is an 82-acre campus with 17 acres of outdoor athletic facilities and 45 buildings. When it rains the campus floods, as the existing Storm Water Management System (SWMS) built in 1943 is inadequate for today’s needs and is in varying degrees of deterioration. It is intended that the selected Contractor shall inspect the campus SWMS and design a replacement SWMS, subject to Government acceptance. Once accepted, the old SWMS will be demolished, and the new SWMS shall be installed.
