U.S. Department of Transportation Announces More than $60 Million in Funding for Leading Transportation Research

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) today announced more than $60 million in funding for 32 University Transportation Centers (UTCs) around the country. UTCs are comprised of groups of universities seeking solutions to national, regional and local transportation issues. The 32 UTCs were previously selected for grants authorized under the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

DOT Announces Competitive Grant Solicitation for Two New University Transportation Research Centers

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) today published a Notice of Funding Opportunity for $15 million to fund two new University Transportation Centers (UTCs).

“Our Universities are at the forefront of solution-oriented research addressing America’s changing demographics and increased freight volumes,” said Keith Nelson, Senior Advisor for Research and Technology.  “These funds will support UTC programs that provide students with real opportunities to take part in cutting-edge transportation research.”

U.S. DOT announces $7.7 million for first round of Regional University Transportation Center Grants

WASHINGTON: As part of the University Transportation Centers (UTC) program, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has selected the University of Maine, Rutgers University, and Pennsylvania State University for regional grants authorized under the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act for fiscal years 2016-2020.  All three UTCs will receive their first-year funding now:

2017 Outstanding Students of the Year

Each year at the annual winter meeting of the Transportation Research Board, during the Council of University Transportation Centers Banquet, the U.S. Department of Transportation recognizes outstanding students from the University Transportation Centers (UTC) for their achievements and accomplishments in the transportation field during the year.

This year's banquet will be held at the Marriott Marquis  in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2018, at 6:30 pm.
