Service Availability Prediction Tool (SAPT)
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) developed the Service Availability Prediction Tool (SAPT) to assist pilots, dispatchers, and commercial operators in checking their predicted navigation and surveillance availability before a flight as well as handle requests for Air Traffic Control (ATC) authorization pursuant to 14 CFR § 91.225(g). This Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) was developed pursuant to Section 208 of the E-Government Act of 2002 because the SAPT includes a web-based capability to collect and manage Personally Identifiable Information (PII) captured from members of the public, including aircraft operators to facilitate the automated handling of ATC authorization requests and FAA’s responses.
