The Department of Transportation (DOT or the Department) transitioned to the Google Workspace (GWS). Google Workspace is a FedRAMP-authorized, cloud-based suite of collaboration and productivity tools to include Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and Chat. It is used by the Department to support operational communication, document generation, information sharing, storage, and collaboration across DOT programs and components. This Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) is published in accordance with the E-Government Act of 2002 because GWS may contain business information and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) necessary to carry out official duties. This PIA evaluates the privacy risks, compliance requirements, and mitigation measures associated with DOT’s use of GWS.
