Regional Workshops

The Every Place Counts: Leadership Academy hosted two regional events in December 2016, one in Kansas City, Missouri and one in Seattle, Washington.  These Regional Workshops brought together community members from the Midwest and the West Coast to learn about the transportation decision-making process and explore how they can bring their voices and insights to that process.

Launch Event

On October 5, 2016, U.S. DOT launched the Every Place Counts: Leadership Academy with a kickoff event at DOT Headquarters in Washington, DC. The launch brought together more than one hundred community members from across the country to learn about the transportation decision-making process and explore how they can bring their voices and insights to that process.

Participants also had a unique opportunity to provide feedback on the initial version of the Transportation Toolkit.  DOT used this feedback to improve the quality, clarity, readability and usability of the Transportation Toolkit.
