Cathy F. Gautreaux

Cathy F. Gautreaux is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Multimodal Freight Infrastructure and Policy in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. DOT building in Washington, D.C. The mission of the Freight office is to manage National Multimodal Freight Policy and the “Freight Logistics Optimization Works” (FLOW) program. She was previously a Congressional Affairs and Private Sector Specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). During her previous tenure at USDOT, she was a Senior Advisor with the Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as well as the Deputy Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Prior to coming to USDOT, she was the Executive Director and chief Lobbyist for the Louisiana Motor Transport Association for 32 years. After receiving her B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from Louisiana State University, she was a fully commissioned Detective with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana.
