Meeting to discuss the new Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Section 40007 Grant Program Fueling Aviation’s Sustainable Transition through Sustainable Aviation Fuels (FAST-SAF) and Low-Emission Aviation Technology (FAST-Tech)

Meeting Purpose: The Department of Transportation (DOT) is preparing to execute a new grant program specified in the Inflation Reduction Act Section 40007. This Act gives the DOT $297M for new grants to advance sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and low emissions aviation technologies to reduce emissions from aviation and aid in addressing the climate crisis. This meeting will share information on the plans for the grant programs, called Fueling Aviation’s Sustainable Transition through Sustainable Aviation Fuels (FAST-SAF) and Low Emissions Aviation Technology (FAST-Tech), solicit interest from the public, and provide an opportunity for feedback on how the program is planned to be set up and executed. The meeting will also provide a venue for potential grant applicants to initiate discussions on teaming opportunities. 

Meeting Location: Department of Transportation Headquarters atrium at 1200 New Jersey Ave SE, Washington, D.C. 20590

Meeting Date: December 14, 2022, from 9am to 5pm Eastern

Meeting Format: Hybrid – the meeting will be primarily in-person at DOT Headquarters, with a virtual participation option available. The FAA plans to livestream the event and make this video available for later viewing. Virtual participants will also be able to ask questions via a moderated chat feature.
