Connecticut Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles Grants a Limited Exemption from the Hours-of-Service Provisions

Summary

Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes (CGS) § 14-163c and the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies §14-163c-l0, the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles Melody A. Currey has granted a limited exemption from the provisions of 49 CFR Part 395 governing Hours of Service of Drivers, specifically for the intrastate transportation of diesel fuel and heating oil in connection with extended extreme cold temperatures causing shortages and interruptions in the availability and/or delivery of diesel and home heating fuels. The emergency exemption is effective beginning March 7, 2014 at 5 p.m. EST.
