Thank you.  Let me acknowledge Commander Kenneth Wong, of the American Legion Kimlau Post 1291; Mr. Peter Woo, Former Chairman of the American Legion Kimlau Post 1291; and, Mr. Richard Shin, Chairman of the Chinese American Veterans Memorial Building Committee.

We are so honored to be standing here in front of this memorial to the brave Chinese Americans who gave their lives for our country.

We are all Americans. And on this Memorial Day we join our countrymen in paying tribute to these veterans, and in humbly thanking them for making the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We also honor the members of the Chinese American community who are serving today—and have served both here and abroad-- to keep our country safe.   They put themselves in harm’s way to protect us.

We say to our veterans: Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sacrifice. And thank you for keeping our country strong and free.

May God bless you, and may God bless America.
