U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Activities at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland
GLASGOW, Scotland – On the heels of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal passing, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will attend the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, including COP’s first ever Transport Day. He will participate in several public events, where he will discuss the need to accelerate global action to confront climate change and adapt to the challenges that climate change has already brought. He will highlight that in the U.S., transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions and how the Biden-Harris administration, through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal and the Build Back Better Framework is rising to the challenge of making transportation the largest part of the solution, while creating good-paying jobs in the process.
Secretary Buttigieg will also participate in bilateral meetings, and is expected to commit the U.S. to international agreements advancing sustainable transportation.
