Driving the News

WASHINGTON, D.C. —  U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today celebrated a year of decisive wins under President Donald J. Trump’s America First Agenda. Since his swearing-in, Secretary Duffy has worked in lockstep with the President to restore safety for American travelers, modernize infrastructure, and unleash innovation to fuel long-term economic growth.

After four years of illegal EV mandates, forcing states to adopt a woke DEI and Green New Scam agenda, and sitting on billions in funding for critical projects throughout our country, Secretary Duffy has successfully righted USDOT’s ship and refocused the Department on its core mission. Under his leadership, USDOT has stripped away bureaucratic waste, restoring common sense to the trucking and auto industries and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used to build big, beautiful infrastructure.

Key Achievements in Year One

Modernizing American Skies
To ensure America’s skies are the safest in the world, Secretary Duffy and the Federal Aviation Administration have secured $12.5 billion from the One Big Beautiful Bill to overhaul our aging air traffic control system.

Restoring Safety to American Roads
After numerous deadly—and avoidable—accidents on America’s roads caused by dangerous and unqualified truck drivers, Secretary Duffy cracked down on the trucking industry, on unqualified commercial drivers, and on states like California that refuse to put safety first.

Freedom Means Affordable Cars
In the Oval Office, President Trump and Secretary Duffy ended the Biden-Buttigieg illegal CAFE standards, reviving the beating heart of the auto manufacturing industry.

  • Reducing the average cost of a new vehicle by $1,000 for American families.
  • Projected to save the American economy $109 billion over the next five years.

Ending Waste and Eliminating Woke Priorities
The Trump Administration has been relentless in rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse. By scrubbing DEI requirements from federal grants and cutting through red tape, the Department is building infrastructure Americans actually want—at the Speed of Trump.
